the task

TurboTax requested me to highlight the tax season with fun stop motion videos! The purpose of these animations was to focus on their free tax service on simple tax returns.

the Challenges

The main challenge was aligning the TurboTax UI into the videos. It can be challenging to have an object be perfectly aligned in stop motion as well as providing accurate shadows like the bottom-right video.

the solutions

What I ended up doing was morphing the UI in After Effects to fit the screen properly. For the bottom-right video, I had a piece of cardboard as the placeholder to provide a real shadow rather than producing a fake one.
